Kien Binh Minh Foundation: From “Haptic Eyes” to “Heart” – The journey bringing Tet to the High and remote places in Northwest region Vietnam

In 2014, on a journey to bring light to visually impaired members of the community, the Kiến Bình Minh Fund made a stop in Lào Cai. Returning this time, Kiến Bình Minh carries a different mission.

More than three months have passed since the historic Typhoon Yagi swept through, leaving behind immense loss and sorrow for the people of the northern provinces, among which Lào Cai was the hardest hit. The destination for Kiến Vương Company this time is A Lù commune, one of the most severely damaged areas in Lào Cai Province. During the recent storm, a catastrophic landslide on September 9, 2024, in Phìn Chải 2 village tragically claimed 7 lives and buried numerous homes. On this trip, the working delegation from Kiến Vương Company was connected and honored to partner in the program "Spring at the Border Guard: Warming the Hearts of the Villagers," organized by the Border Guard Command of Lào Cai Province.

A Lù is a high-mountain commune in the northern mountainous region, characterized by harsh natural conditions. The commune is considered one of the poorest in the district, with poor and near-poor households accounting for over 80%. The local level of education remains limited, making the task of raising incomes and improving people's lives a constant, major challenge for the local authorities. The entire commune has 940 households, with three ethnic groups—Mông, Dao, and Hà Nhì—living together. The terrain is deeply fragmented with scarce arable land, so the locals' income relies primarily on growing corn and rice once a year.

Together with local authorities, Kiến Vương Company brought practical gifts to help struggling households affected by the natural disaster, with the wish to help families enjoy a warm, bountiful, and fulfilling Lunar New Year. In addition, Kiến Vương Company also empowered poor students who persevere to overcome hardships and excel in their studies.

Another journey comes to a close, but it opens up a new path for 2025, extending the trips that bring Kiến Vương closer to the community. Far beyond a corporation's "social responsibility," it is empathy, sharing, and the spirit of mutual love and affection that have served as the "red thread" running through this journey since the inception of the Kiến Bình Minh Fund. Not only when natural disasters or misfortunes strike, we understand that somewhere across this S-shaped land, there are still ethnic compatriots facing daily struggles—without enough food to eat or clothes to keep warm; there are still young children with mud-stained bare feet who tirelessly strive on the path to education; somewhere there are still dilapidated, makeshift schools lacking in every way; and there are still teachers quietly clinging to their schools and classes day and night, dedicating their youth to the homeland for a brighter future for underprivileged children in remote borderlands, at the edge of the Fatherland… and so much more.

Throughout the past journey, Kiến Vương Company has been fortunate to receive the support and partnership of its entire staff. Every small action from our staff is deeply cherished and fuels our motivation to maintain and grow the "Kiến Bình Minh" Fund. Together with the strength of the community, Kiến Vương Company and the Kiến Bình Minh Fund hope that every citizen will lead a warm, prosperous, and happy life, supported to develop and thrive; that every child can go to school and no one is left behind, contributing to ushering the country into a new era—the era of national rising.
