On August 14, 2024, in order to enhance the diversity of solutions in different formulation applications, Kien Vuong and BASF organized a pharmaceutical seminar with the topic "Development of topical medicinal products". The seminar was attended by 32 representatives from 17 pharmaceutical companies in the Northern region. The seminar was held at Novotel Hotel, No. 02 Thai Ha, Dong Da District, Hanoi.

At the seminar, customers attending the seminar were shared by experts from BASF about trends, solutions, as well as other notes in choosing suitable pharmaceutical ingredients in customers' production formulas, thereby helping customers feel more secure in choosing input materials to have truly stable and quality formulas.

Customers in Vietnam are increasingly interested in topical cream formulations, especially in Vietnam, where skin diseases are becoming more common. BASF has brought important messages to customers when considering building and developing new product lines. One of the biggest obstacles for manufacturers around the world is how to manage the input stage, manage raw materials and balance with the skin biology. Through BASF's excipients for each application group, customers will be more confident in the solutions that BASF can offer. In addition, BASF also brings another useful tool that help customers to always remember when preparing for topical cream production, that is to observe the structure under a microscope to ensure that the properties of the product are assessed more accurately.

Another message that BASF also wants to convey to customers is the issues related to impurities in general and peroxide content in particular. Peroxide is a product produced when polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is exposed to oxygen. This product reduces the content of the active ingredient in the finished product, thereby reducing the quality of the finished drug. Through the mechanism of action of peroxide, BASF provides a solution to control the peroxide content at the lowest and most stable level. BASF also introduces to customers a new series of Kollidon product line: for customers who have previously been using the Povidone 90 in the product Kollidon 90F, they can now feel more secured when using the new product line called Kollidon 90EVO. This product has improved the indicators related to impurities such as aldehyde, hydrazine, peroxide... With Kollidon 90EVO, customers can be completely assured that their products will always be more stable and will also meet more stringent standards.
