Journey ""FROM QUÀI NƯA TO……….. VÀNG ĐÁN""

26/03/2024

Điện Biên - a land marking a heroic period of the nation with many historical relics and landscapes, this is also a Northwestern mountainous province with harsh tropical monsoon climate, influenced by the hot, dry west wind combined with the rugged terrain, mainly steep mountains that makes transportation inconvenient. 90% of the population here are ethnic minorities, and the lives here are very challenging.

So throughout the journey in all regions of the country, with the mutual mindset and desire to help share some with the minorities, Dien Bien is the destination where the Kien Vuong family carries out the charity program.

First visit in Quài Nưa, Tuần Giáo, Điện Biên:

In October 2017, amid the early days of the Northwest dry season, the Kien Vuong family had the opportunity to donate more than 1,000 gifts to students at 3 schools: Quài Nưa Secondary School, Quài Nưa Primary School No. 1 and Quài Nưa Primary School No. 2.

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu Hiền - representing the Board of Directors shared the responsibilities of Kien Vuong family to the community and society

The second visit to the border communes of Vàng Đán, Nậm Pồ, Điện Biên:

In October 2022, through the connection with the Dien Bien Provincial Youth Union, the Kien Vuong family had another busy volunteer program with the title "Returning to the Nạm Pồ highland" at Vàng Đán Primary - Secondary School for the Ethnic Minorities. At here, the Kien Vuong family donated 351 gifts and 04 stainless steel water tanks. In the border highlands, clean water scarcity often occurs, especially in the dry seasons, and many areas do not have clean water to use. The water supply from the streams depends mostly on the weather. Lack of water for daily uses often affects the student's living conditions.

Having traveled and learned a lot about the difficulties and hardships of people in the border areas, so after the meeting with Mr. Sùng A Phông - Captain of the reinforced border officer in Vàng Đán who understood very well what the people in the border areas lacked and what they needed to improve their living, immediately on November 15, 2022 and on January 5, 2023, the Kien Vuong family in all 4 regions of the country have joined hands together to prepare gift bags containing used good-quality clothes, carefully selected and thoroughly cleaned, along with shoes, books, and comic books, to give to the children.

Returning to Vang Dan in early Spring 2024 for the program “Accompanying Women and Children in border areas”:

Most recently, in March of 2024, with the collaboration between the officers of the Provincial Border Guard Command in Điện Biên and the Border Guard Post of Na Bung - individuals who consistently uphold the motto '3 cling, 4 together' (3 cling: Clinging to the working unit, clinging to the local, clinging to the guidelines and policies ( of the government ); 4 together: Eating together, living together, working together, and speaking the same language together) - the Kien Vuong family once again returned to the residents of Vàng Đán. Along the way to the donation area, we saw numerous inadequate houses. These houses were dilapidated over time, hot in the summer, leaky in the rainy season and cold in the winter.

While hosting the program "Accompanying Women and Children in Border Areas in 2024”. We got the opportunity to experience the joy of the women and young children while they receiving the meaningful gifts. The difficulties in their daily lives were shown through the images of young children walking barefoot to school because they did not have shoes.

After carrying out multiple volunteer programs in Điện Biên. We have observed that the people in border areas were not only fellow countrymen, but also they were comrades who always stand side by side with the border guard soldiers to defend every inch of land, serving as “Border Markers” at the forefront of the nation's territory, contributing significantly to safeguarding national sovereignty. Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thu Hiền still concerned and hoped that in future the Kien Vuong Family could send more medicine, essential supplies, and basic household items to the people in more remote areas, where they were not fortunate enough to connect with the community.

May these wishes, though very simple yet full of love, not only from Ms. Hiền but also from the entire Kien Vuong family, continue to spread the values and share the hardships with the people of Điện Biên Highland.

SAD STORY IN A REMOTE COMMUNE

What do you see after the past volunteer trips? Is not seeing the things around that people call fame. Only see love when sharing each other pieces. Is it a piece of cake, a sweater or a pair of forest sandals. What do you see beside the cheers ? It's a picture of a 5-year-old boy carrying his brother who is thirsty for milk. In that area, people must find ways for a proper meal ? YES. That is right. The children in the highlands are still suffering!

300 GIFTS HANDED OVER TO POOR CHILDREN IN HA TINH

With the help of Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union, on August 26, Kien Vuong comes and hands over 300 sets of clothes, 300 plastic slippers and 3000 notebooks and sweets to poor students overcoming difficulties in 2 districts Thach Ha and Can Loc belong to Ha Tinh province. In order for timely gifts to reach children in the new school year, it is thanks to the cooperation with local authorities to search for students with difficult circumstances but have the will to study and practice well. The overriding goal is still to make sure the help goes to the right place, to the right person, and really means something to the recipients.

THE LAST LEG OF THE JOURNEY BRINGING WARMTH TO THE CHILDREN OF YEN BAI HIGHLAND

We can't have enough strength to change the situation, overcome the difficulties for teachers and students, just hope to contribute with the teachers to "retain" the children to stay at the school to study properly, so that the students will be the ones to draw a bright future for themselves!
